Nationally Recognised Training.

It was great to have some variety and the course always kept me interested in what was next. I also think that it is super important to have help when you need it too. If I was ever unsure about something in an assignment, I had some really helpful trainers that assisted in the areas I struggled with. They were always quick to email me back and were brief.

What types of courses are eligible for Smart and Skilled?

Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications, depending on the availability of funding, are available for subsidised training.

In addition, some new-entrant trainees and NSW apprentices may be eligible for a training government subsidy if it supports their apprenticeship or traineeship.

Please note that previous qualifications do not affect eligibility, but may affect the student fee.

How much funding will go towards my Smart and Skilled funded course?

The NSW Government subsidises between 55% to 90% of the course cost for eligible students.

This subsidy amount will vary by course, as regardless of training provider, each government-subsidised qualification has a fixed qualification price, a government subsidy and a student fee, which is determined by the NSW Government.

Are there Smart and Skilled fee exemptions or concessions?

If you are eligible for Smart and Skilled subsidy, you may also qualify for fee exemptions or concessions. For more information on fee exemptions and concessions, please visit the NSW Govt Smart and Skilled website.

Smart and Skilled student fees are for the whole qualification. This means you’ll know, upfront, the total cost of the training.

Funding availability

Availability of Smart and Skilled Funding is dependant on the Financial Funding Cap of Upskilled as set by the NSW Government. If our funding cap has been reached, you will be placed on a waiting list for when further funding becomes available.

Government funding explained

At both state and federal level, government commitment to upskilling the Australian workforce has resulted in a comprehensive framework of funding schemes and incentive opportunities.

As a result, many Upskilled students are provided incentives by the Government to undertake training and/or find that their courses are heavily subsidised.
